CVE-2024-41888Network attack vector

Unauthorized password reset via reusable reset tokens

Published Aug 9, 2024 · Updated Mar 13, 2025

Improper reset-token invalidation in Apache Answer 1.3.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to reuse a captured link to reset a password. VerifyCode reads the token's cached content without deleting the cache entry, so the same code remains accepted until its ten-minute expiry. Possession of a still-valid reset link is required; replay lets the holder change the associated account password after the link's first use.
