CVE-2024-41869Known exploitation

Code execution via freed-memory reuse

Published Sep 13, 2024 · Updated Sep 13, 2024

Use-after-free in Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader allows attackers to execute code as the current user via a malicious PDF. Adobe identifies freed-memory reuse but has not disclosed the affected parser, object type, or lifetime error that leaves a stale reference reachable. A victim must open the file; the published proof of concept causes a crash, while successful exploitation can run code with that user’s privileges.
