Account takeover via empty email verification key
Published May 7, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Authentication bypass in WisdmLabs Edwiser Bridge 3.0.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to access any WordPress user account. The eb_user_email_verify function accepts the empty default eb_user_email_verification_key because it does not reject an empty key before matching user metadata. Email Verification must be enabled and the target user ID must be known; successful requests create a session with that user's privileges, including Administrator access.
