Code execution via TIF heap buffer overflow
Published Aug 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 15, 2024
Heap-based buffer overflow in Adobe InDesign 19.4 and 18.5.2 and earlier allows attackers to execute code when a user opens a malicious TIF file. The TIF file parser writes beyond an allocated heap buffer while processing crafted image data, corrupting adjacent memory. Exploitation requires user interaction and runs code with the privileges of the current user, permitting access to or modification of data available to that account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
