Memory disclosure via unchecked annotation buffer read
Published Aug 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 14, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader allows remote attackers to disclose process memory through a malicious PDF. Annotation-object parsing fails to validate user-supplied data before reading beyond an allocated buffer, exposing adjacent memory and potentially defeating ASLR. Exploitation requires a victim to open the file or visit a malicious page; the flaw provides disclosure only unless chained with another vulnerability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
