CVE-2024-41832Public exploit

Memory disclosure via malformed gvar tuple data

Published Aug 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 14, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in CoolType in affected Adobe Acrobat and Reader releases allows attackers to disclose process memory via a crafted PDF. CoolType trusts packed-point counts and tuple variation sizes in an embedded font's gvar GlyphVariationData, then reads beyond that table's boundary. A targeted user must open the PDF; the disclosed memory can reveal sensitive data and assist ASLR bypass without altering data or interrupting the application.
