Code execution via freed 3D annotation reuse
Published Aug 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 15, 2024
Use-after-free in AV3DVirtAnnot in Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader allows attackers to execute code through a malicious PDF. A PDF JavaScript Format action changes the page, freeing the 3D annotation object, which is then reused without validation and corrupts memory. Exploitation requires a local user to open the crafted file and runs with that user's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
