Arbitrary file disclosure via triple-dot traversal
Published Nov 15, 2024 · Updated Nov 15, 2024
Path traversal in affected IBM Sterling Secure Proxy releases allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files through crafted URL requests. URL path handling interprets triple-dot segments (/.../) as directory traversal and resolves requests outside the intended web directory. Unauthenticated network access is sufficient, and successful exploitation exposes files readable by the service without altering them.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
