CVE-2024-41741Network attack vector

Username enumeration via observable timing discrepancy

Published Nov 1, 2024 · Updated Nov 1, 2024

Observable timing discrepancy in IBM TXSeries for Multiplatforms 10.1 allows remote attackers to determine valid usernames. IBM identifies shipped webpages as the affected surface but does not disclose the request path or operation whose timing differs for valid and invalid usernames. No authentication or user interaction is required; the disclosed consequence is username discovery that can support further attacks.
