Unauthenticated service disruption via exposed Kafka ports
Published Apr 25, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Improper network exposure in Brocade SANnav allows remote attackers on an adjacent network to interrupt service through exposed Kafka ports. The IPTables configuration leaves Kafka and Schema Registry ports 19094, 19095, 18081, and 18082 open across the WAN instead of limiting access to discovered Fabric OS switches. No authentication or user interaction is required; versions before 2.2.0 also run Kafka as root with default credentials, expanding confidentiality and integrity impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
