Cleartext storage in IDEC WindLDR 9.1.0 and earlier and the HMI programming software 3.0.1 and earlier exposes PLC and HMI credentials. Saved project files lack sufficient protection and retain PLC or operator-interface authentication information in recoverable cleartext. Access to a project file is required; exposed credentials permit unauthorized access that can manipulate or suspend the associated controller or interface.
