Authenticated conversation hijacking via unchecked ownership
Published Jul 22, 2024 · Updated Aug 23, 2024
Incorrect access control in LibreChat 0.7.4-rc1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to hijack other users' conversations. Message-update requests to /api/ask/ accept a target conversationId without verifying that the requester owns that conversation. An attacker needs a valid account and an identifier exposed through a shared-chat response, then can read, inject, or modify messages as the victim.
