Cookie theft via unfiltered playlist title
Published Jul 23, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in Ampache before 6.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to steal cookies through a crafted Democratic playlist name. The show_box_top.inc.php template outputs the user-controlled $title variable inside an h3 element without filtering or HTML encoding. Content Manager permissions are required to store the payload, and script execution occurs when another user opens democratic.php, exposing that user's session cookies.
