Authenticated memory corruption via stack buffer overflow
Published Apr 25, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda G3 15.11.0.17(9502) allows remote authenticated users to corrupt memory via a crafted HTTP request. The formModifyPppAuthWhiteMac handler writes the attacker-controlled pppoeServerWhiteMacIndex value beyond its stack buffer when processing /goform/ModifyPppAuthWhiteMac. Low-privileged access is required; exploitation corrupts adjacent process memory, resulting in a management-service crash or redirected execution.
