Stored script execution via unsanitized article comments
Published Aug 13, 2024 · Updated Mar 18, 2025
Stored XSS in Symphony CMS 2.7.10 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script through crafted article comments. The Comment component fails to neutralize attacker-controlled content before rendering it on an article page. A highly privileged account must submit the comment, and another user must view the affected article; script execution can read or alter data in that user's browser context.
