CVE-2024-4161Network attack vector

Sensitive log disclosure via cleartext syslog

Published Apr 25, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Cleartext syslog transmission in Broadcom Brocade SANnav before 2.3.0 allows remote attackers to capture sensitive log data. The syslog component registers SANnav in insecure mode when either SANnav or the paired Fabric OS release lacks secure-syslog support, leaving received traffic unencrypted. No authentication or user interaction is required, but the attacker must be positioned to observe the network path carrying the syslog stream.
