Comment insertion via tokenless cross-site form submission

Published Jul 19, 2024 · Updated Jul 9, 2026

Cross-site request forgery in ProcessWire 3.0.229 allows remote attackers to submit comments through a victim opening crafted HTML. The comments form accepts a cross-site POST containing comment and page fields without a request token or referrer requirement. The Supplier disputes the vulnerability because anonymous comments are intentional, the Comments field must be enabled, and submissions are held for moderator review by default.
