Stored script execution via unescaped tagName
Published May 9, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Creative Themes Blocksy 2.0.42 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through tagName. Theme code accepts the tagName value without sufficient input sanitization and emits it without adequate output escaping in generated page markup. Contributor-level access is sufficient, and the stored script runs whenever another user opens the affected page, enabling page-context data access or modification.
