Session hijacking via credentialed wildcard CORS
Published Aug 12, 2024 · Updated Aug 13, 2024
Origin validation error in GNUBOARD6 6.0.7 allows remote attackers to hijack user sessions through cross-origin requests. The FastAPI CORS configuration enables credentials while allowing every origin, so a malicious page can issue credentialed requests to the application. A victim must open an attacker-controlled link in a browser while an authenticated GNUBOARD6 session is available, exposing that session to unauthorized use.
