CVE-2024-4138Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via unchecked sharing-rule changes

Published May 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Missing authorization in SAP S/4HANA Manage Bank Statement Reprocessing Rules allows remote authenticated users to alter others' sharing rules. The application accepts an authenticated request to enable or disable another user's sharing rule without verifying that the caller is authorized for that user's rule. A low-privileged network account is required, and the demonstrated consequence is limited to unauthorized sharing-rule changes that affect application integrity.
