Authenticated file read via unsanitized backup path
Published Jul 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Path traversal in ICEcoder 8.1 allows remote authenticated users to read server files through a crafted backup-preview request. The backup-versions-preview-loader.php endpoint applies XSS filtering to the file parameter and concatenates it beneath ../data/backups/ without rejecting traversal sequences. A valid session and CSRF token are required; successful traversal exposes files readable by the web-server process, including source files outside the backup directory.
