Script execution via unescaped widget identifier
Published Jul 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Reflected XSS in phpIPAM 1.6 allows remote attackers to execute script in an authenticated user's browser via a crafted widget request. In app/admin/widgets/edit.php, action=add skips the widget lookup and the wid POST value is printed into a hidden input attribute without output encoding. A logged-in user must submit the crafted POST request and invoke its injected event, exposing actions available to that user's session.
