Authenticated script execution via unescaped operation type
Published Aug 29, 2024 · Updated Jan 26, 2026
Reflected XSS in OpenFlights commit 5234b5b allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a browser through php/trip.php. The php/trip.php endpoint reads the POST type parameter and concatenates an unknown operation value into an error response without HTML encoding. Exploitation requires a logged-in session, a nonzero trid value, an unsupported type value, and browser rendering of the response in the application's origin.
