CVE-2024-41340

Code execution via arbitrary APP Enforcement module upload

Published Feb 27, 2025 · Updated Jul 5, 2026

Unrestricted upload in DrayTek Vigor router firmware allows attackers to execute arbitrary kernel code through APP Enforcement updates. The updater accepts arbitrary APP Enforcement signatures even though those signatures are implemented as kernel modules, causing attacker-supplied module code to load in the router kernel. Exploitation requires local access to the update path; a successful upload executes with kernel privileges and can fully compromise the router.
