Authenticated category deletion via missing authorization check
Published Aug 9, 2024 · Updated Aug 9, 2024
Improper access control in SourceCodester Computer Laboratory Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary categories. The delete_category function in /classes/Master.php accepts an attacker-selected category identifier and performs the deletion without verifying that the account is authorized to manage categories. A low-privileged account and network access to the web interface are sufficient; the demonstrated consequence is unauthorized category-data deletion.
