Authenticated memory corruption via guest QoS parameter
Published Apr 24, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda W15E 15.11.0.14 allows remote authenticated users to corrupt memory through a guest QoS request. The guestWifiRuleRefresh function accepts an oversized qosGuestDownstream value without enforcing the destination stack buffer's bounds, overwriting adjacent memory. Low-privilege web-management access is required; public evidence establishes a proof of concept but does not document reliable code execution.
