CVE-2024-41260Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Email address disclosure via static CBC initialization vector

Published Aug 1, 2024 · Updated Dec 15, 2025

Information disclosure in NetBird management 0.23.2 through 0.29.1 allows attackers with the audit database to recover email addresses. The Encrypt function in management/server/activity/sqlite/crypt.go applies AES-CBC to audit-event metadata with the same hard-coded IV for every record, exposing repeated plaintext patterns. Exploitation requires possession of the audit-events database, and the documented consequence is disclosure of encrypted email-address information.
