Authenticated router crash via port-mapping stack overflow
Published Apr 24, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda W15E 15.11.0.14 allows remote authenticated users to crash the router via crafted port-mapping requests. The /goform/SetPortMapping handler's formSetPortMapping function writes oversized portMappingServer, portMappingProtocol, portMappingWan, porMappingtInternal, or portMappingExternal values beyond a stack buffer. A valid management session is required, and successful exploitation corrupts process memory and interrupts router services.
