Administrator access via whitespace-modified authentication packet
Published May 22, 2025 · Updated May 23, 2025
Authentication bypass in Ocuco Innovation INVCLIENT.EXE 2.10.24.5 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to gain Administrator access. The Inventory Manager login path accepts an intercepted TCP packet after authentication bytes are replaced with hexadecimal 20 spaces, triggers an access violation in VCRUNTIME140.dll, and then opens the application without an authorization check. Network interception and packet modification are required; successful exploitation exposes every Inventory Manager function with Administrator privileges.
