Permission bypass via unsigned library loading
Published Dec 18, 2024 · Updated Dec 20, 2024
Library injection in Microsoft Teams 24046.2812.2722.8193 for macOS allows local users to access data and device sensors through Teams. The com.microsoft.teams2.modulehost.app helper loads libraries through relative @rpath entries while its disable-library-validation entitlement accepts unsigned code. A local malicious application can copy and launch the helper from a controlled path, inheriting existing Teams permissions to take photos, record audio, or exfiltrate data.
