Privileged command execution via gateway CLI injection
Published Jul 24, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Command injection in the EdgeConnect SD-WAN gateway CLI allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as a privileged OS user. HPE has not published the affected CLI command, handler, or the precise failure that lets crafted input reach the operating-system command interpreter. Exploitation requires privileged CLI access and user interaction; successful execution permits privileged data access, modification, or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=ECOS 8.0.x.x: all builds are affected and are out of maintenance. <=<=8.0.x.x
- Affected versionversion=ECOS 9.0.x.x: all builds are affected and are out of maintenance. <=<=9.0.x.x
- Affected versionversion=ECOS 9.1.x.x: 9.1.11.0 and below <=<=9.1.11.0
- Affected versionversion=ECOS 9.2.x.x: 9.2.9.0 and below <=<=9.2.9.0
