CVE-2024-41122Network attack vector

Agent takeover via plugin environment-variable injection

Published Jul 19, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Injection in Woodpecker before 2.7.0 allows remote authenticated users to take over build agents through malicious plugin workflows. The server compiler treated steps containing plugin settings and custom environment entries as plugins, forwarding dangerous executable-search and dynamic-loader variables into their containers. Any user able to trigger a pipeline could hijack plugin execution on its agent host or extract secrets supplied to the plugin.
