CVE-2024-41110Network attack vector

Authenticated authorization bypass via zero-length body forwarding

Published Jul 24, 2024 · Updated Oct 13, 2024

Incorrect authorization in Moby allows remote authenticated users to bypass AuthZ plugin decisions through crafted Engine API requests. When Content-Length is zero, the daemon strips the request or response body before forwarding it to a body-inspecting AuthZ plugin, so the plugin evaluates incomplete data. The flaw affects deployments that use AuthZ plugins for body-based access decisions and grants unauthorized Docker actions, including privilege escalation.
