CVE-2024-41097

Kernel warning via mismatched USB endpoints

Published Jul 29, 2024 · Updated May 23, 2026

Endpoint validation failure in the Linux kernel cxacru USB ATM driver allows local users to trigger a kernel warning via crafted USB descriptors. cxacru_bind() checks endpoint presence incompletely and can pass mismatched endpoint types to usb_submit_urb() instead of rejecting them. Low-privileged local access and control of USB endpoint descriptors are required; the published reproducer reports a kernel warning during device binding.
