Out-of-bounds read via malformed XFS directory entry

Out-of-bounds read in XFS in the Linux kernel allows local users to expose kernel memory through a crafted filesystem image. Directory-block traversal validates entry offsets but accesses fixed fields without first ensuring that enough aligned bytes remain for an unused record or one-byte-name directory entry. Exploitation requires local access and traversal of a mounted malicious XFS image; the invalid read exposes memory or crashes the kernel.
