Stored XSS via unescaped Additional CSS
Published Jun 18, 2024 · Updated Mar 18, 2025
Stored XSS in ShareThis Simple Share Buttons Adder before 8.5.1 allows remote authenticated users to inject script through Additional CSS. The settings handler stores unsanitized Additional CSS and emits it into a style element without escaping, so a closing style tag becomes executable markup. Editor-level access is sufficient even when unfiltered_html is disabled, and script execution occurs when an affected page reloads.
