CVE-2024-40934

Service interruption via leaked HID report buffers

Published Jul 12, 2024 · Updated May 23, 2026

Memory leakage in affected Linux kernels allows local users to deplete kernel memory through failed Logitech DJ HID report sends. When logi_dj_recv_send_report() returns an error, logi_dj_recv_switch_to_dj_mode() returns without freeing its allocated dj_report buffer. Reaching the flaw requires low-privileged local access and the Logitech DJ receiver mode-switch path; repeated failures can consume memory and interrupt service.
