Lock-screen call activation via unrestricted Siri options
Published Oct 28, 2024 · Updated Apr 2, 2026
Lock-screen restriction bypass in Siri on iOS and iPadOS before 18 allows local users to enable Auto-Answer Calls. Siri offers the Auto-Answer Calls control while the device is locked instead of withholding that option until authentication. The attacker must be able to invoke Siri on the locked device; changing the setting can cause incoming calls to be answered without unlocking it.
