App termination via ImageIO out-of-bounds access

Out-of-bounds access in ImageIO on affected Apple operating systems allows attackers to terminate an app by supplying a crafted file. ImageIO accesses memory outside a valid buffer boundary while parsing the file; Apple has not disclosed the format, code path, or read/write direction. A user or application must cause ImageIO to process the file, and the reported consequence is limited to termination of that application.
