Browser script execution via crafted power-outlet names
Published Jul 9, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Cross-site scripting in NetBox 4.0.3 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary browser scripts through crafted power-outlet names. The power-outlet creation view accepts a crafted Name value at /dcim/power-outlets/add and renders it as executable script or HTML without neutralization. Exploitation requires a victim to load affected output; successful script runs in that browser's NetBox origin and can act with the victim's access.
