Elevated code execution via editable job scripts
Published Dec 4, 2024 · Updated Mar 13, 2025
Remote code execution in Veeam Backup & Replication 12.2.0.334 and earlier 12 builds allows remote authenticated users to run scripts. Users holding a Viewer or Operator role can update an existing job to reference a pre-job or post-job script on a network share, schedule it almost immediately, and have the backup server launch it as LocalSystem. The attacker needs an assigned limited role on the backup server; successful execution grants arbitrary LocalSystem code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=12.0 <=12.2.0.334
