Malicious executable delivery via unvalidated file content
Published Dec 20, 2024 · Updated Dec 20, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in IBM Cognos Analytics allows remote authenticated users to place malicious executables through its web interface. The web upload handler accepts files without validating their content before storing them for automatic processing. Exploitation requires privileged access to the interface and victim interaction with a delivered file, exposing that victim to follow-on code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=11.2.0 <=11.2.4
- Affected versionversion=12.0.0 <=12.0.4
