User-assisted code execution via unvalidated file upload
Published Jan 24, 2025 · Updated Feb 12, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in IBM Planning Analytics Local 2.0 and 2.1 allows remote authenticated users to upload executable files. The Planning Analytics Workspace web interface accepts uploaded content without validating whether the file is executable. A low-privileged account and victim interaction are required because the uploaded file must be delivered to and opened by a victim, enabling further attacks with the victim's privileges.
