Weak password requirements in affected IBM Operations Analytics - Log Analysis versions allow remote attackers to compromise user accounts. The Backend Authentication and Session Management module's database-managed custom user registry does not require strong passwords by default and inadequately locks accounts after failed logins. Network access requires no prior privileges, but compromise depends on obtaining or guessing a password; IBM reports confidentiality impact only.
