CVE-2024-40683Network attack vector

User impersonation via post-password-change session persistence

Published Jul 30, 2026 · Updated Jul 30, 2026

Session expiration failure in IBM Operations Analytics - Log Analysis 1.3.5.0 through 1.3.8.4 allows remote authenticated users to impersonate users. The session-management logic fails to revoke active session credentials when the account password changes, leaving the earlier session authorized. Exploitation requires control of a session established before the password change and preserves that account's access after the credential reset.
