Unsafe package override handling in dbt Core allows local users to execute malicious SQL through implicit built-in materialization overrides. The manifest resolver ranked an imported package macro above a same-named built-in materialization by default, selecting the package implementation without an explicit override. Exploitation requires a user to install and run a malicious package, after which its materialization can perform operations permitted by the configured warehouse credentials.
