Authenticated script execution via unsanitized media URLs
Published Jul 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Udecode Plate before 36.0.10 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through crafted media URLs. useMediaState passes custom-parser output or an unsanitized element URL to an iframe without restricting javascript, data, or vbscript schemes. Exploitation requires an editor that uses an unsafe custom parser or consumes the raw URL, allowing script execution in that application's browser context.
