CVE-2024-40628Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Sensitive file disclosure via Ansible local lookup

Published Jul 18, 2024 · Updated Mar 25, 2025

Path traversal in JumpServer 3.0.0 through 3.10.11 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary Celery container files. Job Center passes user-authored Ansible playbooks to Celery, where the ansible.builtin.file lookup reads attacker-selected local paths without isolating Ansible from container files. A low-privileged account with access to at least one host and Job Center suffices; exposed root-process environment data can reveal host secrets and database access.
