CVE-2024-40625Network attack vector

Authenticated SSRF via unchecked Coverage REST URL

Published Jun 10, 2025 · Updated Jun 10, 2025

Server-side request forgery in GeoServer before 2.26.0 allows remote authenticated users to make server-side requests to chosen URLs. RESTUtils passes the Coverage REST operation's supplied file URL to the retrieval path without applying URLCheckers.confirm validation. Administrative REST access is required, and the server can be induced to contact destinations reachable from its network position.
