CVE-2024-40624Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated command execution via tracking cookie deserialization

Published Jul 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Unsafe deserialization in TorrentPier before 2.4.4 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through a crafted tracking cookie. The get_tracks() function passes a user-controlled bb_t cookie to PHP unserialize() instead of decoding a non-object data format. No authentication or user interaction is required; a Guzzle/FW1 gadget chain can write PHP to an arbitrary server file and run system commands.
